The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) will hold its four-day Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland beginning October 23, 2016. The conference will celebrate ASPPA’s 50th anniversary and is a great opportunity to attend sessions on recent developments in the retirement plan industry. Trucker Huss attorneys R. Bradford Huss, Nicholas J. White and Robert R. Gower will participate in several workshops discussing the latest legal topics impacting the industry.
Mr. White will look at some of the latest trends that plan sponsors are experiencing in connection with recent Department of Labor investigations. He will also explore the best ways to get ready for a DOL investigation and important safeguards to put into place during an investigation. The session will be held Sunday, October 23 at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Huss will participate in a panel discussion on ERISA case law covering court decisions that impact the ERISA community in a case study format. This session will provide insight into recent ERISA litigation and how the courts have interpreted the law. The session will be held Tuesday, October 25 at 10:45 a.m.
Mr. Gower will moderate a workshop on “The Globalization of US Companies and their Workforce and the Impact on US Retirement Plans.” This session will analyze the shift that has been created in the types of retirement plans and benefits that are offered to US versus non-US employees. It will be held Wednesday, October 26 at 8:30 a.m.
