Kim counsels single and multi-employers on all aspects of their employee benefit plans, including both qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans.
She routinely assists clients with plan design and drafting, administrative implementation, fiduciary issues, and benefit claims and appeals. Kim also assists plan sponsors in regulatory compliance and advises clients on issues related to the ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, COBRA, and other various federal and state laws applicable to single and multiemployer pension and health and welfare plans.
Prior to joining Trucker Huss, Kim worked as a Business Relationship Manager specializing in providing cash flow and risk management advice to small businesses in Northern California. During law school, Kim served as the Technical Editor for the University of San Francisco (“USF”) Law Review Volume 58, was a Competition Team Member for the USF Moot Court Team, the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and the Academic Support Program Tutor for Legal Research and Writing. In recognition of her oral advocacy skills, Kim was named the Advocate of the Year for winning the 2022 USF Intramural Advance Moot Court Competition. Additionally, she externed for Justice Charles E. Wilson in the 6th District Court of Appeals, where she assisted in regulatory research and writing of complex California state law.
