Catherine Reagan concentrates her practice in the area of employee benefits, with a focus on ERISA litigation. She represents plan sponsors, trustees, and other fiduciaries in a wide range of employee benefits cases, including 401(k) class action litigation, claims for medical, disability, and pension benefits, and cases involving executive compensation.
In addition to her litigation practice, Catherine counsels clients on a variety of matters, including fiduciary responsibility and regulatory compliance. Catherine also represents plan fiduciaries in Department of Labor investigations.
While in law school, Catherine completed a summer internship with the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service in Washington D.C. in their Employee Benefits, Exempt Organizations, and Employment Tax division, where she worked on guidance. Catherine served as an Article Editor for the University of California Davis Law Review, was the Asylum National Moot Court Competition Vice Chair for the Davis School of Law Moot Court Honors Board, and a Board Member for the Trial Practice Honors Board. In recognition of her written and oral advocacy skills in both of those programs, Catherine received the Order of the Barristers award and was invited to become a national member. Catherine also received Witkin awards for the highest-class grade in the courses Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, and Federal Income Tax.
Catherine is admitted to practice before the Northern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Catherine has been recognized as a Northern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine since 2022.
