Sarah advises clients on compliance with various federal and state laws applicable to single and multiemployer pension and health and welfare plans, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), HIPAA, COBRA, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, FMLA and Medicare.
Sarah assists clients with plan design and administration; plan and trust documents and amendments; administrative and fiduciary issues, including benefit claims and appeals, and prohibited transactions; workplace policies and procedures; IRS and DOL investigations; service provider agreements and investment manager agreements.
